Meet the people behind Popp Method.

NINA POPP

Founder · Pilates Teacher · Studio Instructor

Nina is the founder of Popp Method and the person behind its two very different worlds.

A lifelong athlete, Nina grew up loving movement and the way exercise could make you feel stronger, more capable, and more connected to yourself. That interest eventually led her to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she studied Public Health Education with a focus on nutrition, obesity, and food insecurity.

For the past decade, she has built a career in fitness across a wide range of disciplines. Her experience spans indoor cycling, bootcamp, yoga, Olympic lifting, boxing, running, personal training, and nutrition coaching before Pilates ultimately became the center of her work.

What began as another way to move quickly became something much bigger. Nina was drawn to the intelligence and intention of the Classical Pilates system: the precision, the progression, the history, and the way each exercise and piece of apparatus connects to the next. She transitioned into Pilates full-time and developed a deep respect for the Method and a passion for teaching it as a complete system— not simply a workout on a Reformer.

But Nina has never believed that taking the work seriously means taking yourself too seriously.

Popp Method was built around that idea—and around her refusal to fit movement, teaching, or herself into one box. She believes you can honor the history of Pilates without making it feel inaccessible. You can educate and entertain. You can care deeply about precision and still turn the music up. You can appreciate the quiet discipline of Classical Pilates and love the collective energy of a room working hard together.

That duality became Popp Method: a studio with space for both.

As a Pilates Teacher, Nina emphasizes control, connection, progression, and understanding why you're doing the work. As a Studio Instructor, that same intention remains—the lights get darker and the energy gets higher, but the quality of movement never gets lost.

Because you don't have to choose between knowing the work and loving the experience.
